At one time hot air balloon facility was started in Kutch with Ranotsav. The facility has been restarted after a short shutdown.
Flying in the sky has always been a dream of human beings. The Wright Brothers invented the aircraft in 1903. However, balloons (air balloons-gigantic balloons) are already being used to fly aircraft in the sky. Such balloons are now the center of attraction for tourists.

Timings
Balloon rides are possible only in the morning and in the evening, as the wind blows favorable for the balloon at sunset-sunrise. That is why balloon riding is happening in any corner of the world at this time.
The Ranotsav also hosts balloon safaris from 6.30 am to 8-30 am and after 5 pm
Although this cannot be a time fix, it does change according to the weather. Sometimes the ride can be canceled, so you have to be mentally prepared.
Tips before you visit
- Each ride usually includes 4 passengers.
- Depending on the air condition the balloon rises between 70 to 110 feet.
- Each balloon safari lasts 10 to 15 minutes.
- Anyone can take a balloon ride, for which no special physical preparation is required.
- The ride is completely wind based. Safari can only be done if the wind allows. Therefore, one should be mentally prepared for the delay or cancellation of the safari time.
- At present there is no facility of advance booking or online booking. Tourists who are in Ranotsav can get bookings by going directly to the balloon safari site. Tickets are issued on an earlier basis.
Gujarat Tourism has added a new attraction by launching a hot-air balloon ride in the White Desert. Adventures, including para-motoring, are currently underway in the White Desert, adding that tourists will now be able to enjoy hot-air balloon rides as well.
The operator of this balloon is Capt chandni dilip mehtta. Chandni Mehta has undergone piloting training. She has a commercial piloting license from the United States and India. He runs a company in the aviation sector called Aethher solution & services. Together with Gujarat Tourism and GujSail, Chandni Mehta has started balloon safari in Ranotsav from 2022.
After climbing high in a balloon, you get an opportunity to see the white desert, which is not possible anywhere else.
